Malagouzia | Sabanis Domaine

History of Malagouzia has been deeply rooted in Greece for over 100 years (by Otto Roussopoulos) and yet the variety was in serious danger of extinction. In the 1980s, Vangelis Gerovassiliou and Roxani Matsas played an important role in rescuing her.

Malagouzia is a white variety that stands out for its refinement, balance and delicate aroma.Today is one of the most emerging white varieties with plantings that doubled in 2010 to 182 hectares from just 23 in 2000. It is part of the “new generation” of our varieties that will play a leading role in reviving the image of Greek wine both in Greece and the international market.

Label Design

We designed a label according to the rarity, the uniqueness and the refinement of the wine. An exotic and rare bird with a pineapple body. It sits on a peach branch and lets us admire it. The simple but unique typography presents the character of the valuable content of the packaging.
